educationsuisse and ajas joined both their resources and forces in January 2014. The field of educationsuisse activities as the central point in the global network of the 18 Swiss schools abroad will be broadened by the ajas experience in advising young Swiss citizens living abroad who come to Switzerland to foster their education.

A brief review of the history of both associations:

educationsuisse was established in 1942 as “Help Committee for Swiss Schools Abroad” and was later on simply renamed as “Committee for Swiss Schools Abroad” (CSSA). Since January 1st 2012 the association is called “educationsuisse”.

Ajas, the association promoting education for young Swiss abroad was created in 1962. The office was in Zurich at pro juventute until 1989 and then transferred to Berne to the OSA (Organisation of the Swiss Abroad).
